Lakes Area Veterinary Hospital will no longer be able to offer after-hours emergency
services. This year, we have seen a much higher number of appointments during normal operating hours
as well as a substantial increase in after hour calls. Due to these factors, we do not feel that we can
continue to offer the highest quality medicine your pet deserves on a daily basis while offering these
after-hour services. We are sad to no longer be able to provide this additional service to our clients and
we hope everyone understands that this decision is not made lightly and that all options were explored
before having to make this extremely difficult call.
In lieu of emergency services being offered here at Lakes Area Veterinary Hospital, we recommend two
locations in our area that offer 24 hour emergency services. Angelina Animal Hospital in Lufkin sees
large and small animal emergencies, and Nederland Veterinary Clinic in Nederland is a
small animal only emergency hospital. Additionally, you can also find our recommendations on
